About Netcom
 

History.

Netcom has been providing training in various aspects of information technology (IT) since 1997.  Netcom has been approved by and is registered with the Ontario government’s Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities. Our fully equipped classrooms and laboratories are furnished with the latest Pentium multimedia personal computers in Windows, Linux, Wireless devices and Cisco environments.  We have developed a partnership on emerging technologies with Westminster College, London, UK.

Courses and Graduates.

Netcom offers full-time, six month courses and a two year diploma in Information Technology. It also runs a variety of short courses. We have graduated over 400 Microsoft Certified Professionals, over 70 Netware Certified Engineers, over 200 Microsoft System Engineers, 25 Microsoft Database Administrators, and a number of Cisco Certified Associates. Graduates of our courses are working at IBM, Microsoft, Bell Canada, Nortel, Canadian universities, the Bank of Montreal, TD Canada Trust, and other companies. We help our students to find jobs, and they know that they will obtain abundant benefits from the energy and money they have invested in our school. The education we offer does not stop at the end of the course. Teachers remain available for consultation by email, fax, or phone.

Training and Consulting Contracts.   

Netcom has been contracted to provide training in information technology to employees of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, the Royal Bank, Rogers Communications, and World Vision, a development agency that operates in numerous developing countries.  Members of our staff also do consulting regard various IT services, such as PC support networking and software development.

Teaching staff.  

The Netcom faculty includes over 30 full and part-time teachers. Members our highly trained staffs have worked in companies such as IBM and Microsoft, and have up to 16 years of experience in the field of information technology. The turnover rate among our teachers is low. Our faculty members have the interpersonal skills required to communicate with students from a variety of cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. Our approach to training is student centered.

Curriculum.

Our curriculum developers are highly trained and experienced experts. Through our ongoing research, we ensure that we are teaching the most up-to-date and Appropriate technology.  Our curriculum will be useful in the future for IT work both in Canada and in developing countries. Our curriculum offers the best possible return on investment both to the student and to the economy of the student’s home country.

Meeting students’ personal needs.

Netcom is creating an environment that will be both comfortable and supportive to international students. The school will arrange for students’ housing and for a plan to meet their medical needs while they are in Canada. Our staff will offer ongoing guidance. We want to make sure that students are able to satisfy their social and emotional  needs as well as their educational requirements.
