Foreign Exchange
Overseas students must make sure that they have sufficient funds in Canadian Dollar/US Dollars fully able to finance their education in the Canada without recourse to public funds. This means that they should not only be able to pay the tuition fees, but also have sufficient funds for their upkeep in Canada.
Student can obtain funds in Canadian Dollars in a number of ways:
- They may apply to the central bank of their own country to release foreign exchange. Please use the enclosed letter of Acceptance for this purpose.
- In some countries, exchange restrictions are not stringent and foreign exchange is available from banks and other financial institutions in exchange for local currency.
- Some students or their parents may have foreign currency account in the Canada or in the own country.
- Students may also have sponsors in the Canada who are willing to pay their fees and other expenses.
- In some cases students have their parents or relatives working in countries where exchange control restrictions do not apply and therefore foreign exchange may directly transferred from those countries.
Visa application procedure
Students are advised to obtain a student visa from the Canadian Embassy or the Canadian High Commission in their own country. To obtain the student visa, applications need to produce the certificate of Enrolment which the College issues upon receipt of the full of the tuition fees. Please refer to the Letter of Acceptance for further details of fee payment.
Accommodation
The college can arranges accommodation for the students on request. Students are placed in the first available hostel in close proximity to the College. By living in hostel or with a Canadian family, you will have the opportunity to make new friends, learn more about Canadian culture and improve your level of English.
Students wishing to reserve accommodation through the College are advised to complete the Accommodation Request Form and return it to the College. A deposit of $400 has to be made towards rent which will be adjusted against the rent upon your arrival.
The rooms available are furnished to accommodate the student:
- Room:A private room for each student
- Furniture: Bed and bedding, dresser, desk, chair, closet
- Access to bathroom facilities and other common areas in the house
- Access to laundry facilities and telephone.
Airport Pick up
Students who choose "airport pick up" will be picked up at the airport and taken to their homestay. Students who did not choose "airport pick up" should make their own arrangements or take a taxi to their host family's home. |
